I obtained my first degree in Biochemistry from Kings College London and went on to pursue a career in medical research working initially at Great Ormond Street Hospital and subsequently at the National Institute for Medical Research. It was whilst I was working at the Institute that I developed a back problem that introduced me to the world of chiropractic and led to a dramatic change in career. Four more years of hard university study followed leading to graduation with a BSc in Chiropractic in 2001.
More About Mark
Lowford Clinic was ‘born’ in February 2003, just before the birth of my first daughter Lily. The foundation of Lowford Clinic enabled delivery of my vision of a clinic that delivered excellent clinical care in a fun, friendly and welcoming environment. Over the years that ethos has remained although the clinic now offers so much more than just Chiropractic and Physiotherapy. You can Sports Massage Therapy, Podiatry, Acupuncture, Pilates, Yoga, Counselling and Hypnotherapy. Lowford Clinic also is one of the venues for a newly launched runner-specific service: The Running Foundation. This brings together the knowledge and know how of our own MSK-podiatrist Nick Knight, Andy McGhee from Pinnacle training and Physios and Chiropractors. Our aim is to help you run better, longer and in more comfort than ever before.
On a personal level I have been married to Viv for 13 years although we have been together for nearly 30 years. We have 2 girls, Lily who is 12 and Ruby who is 10 and they pretty much take care of all of my ‘free time’. a new Vizsla puppy Lola is the most recent addition to the family, and she may occasionally be seen at the clinic. Not only that, their arrival heralded the end of my motorcycling days and the start of my association with estate cars and caravans. I wouldn’t change it for the world though.
